Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. F. Leigh Phillips, III, PA, FACS is Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale and South Florida’s Source for Plastic Surgery and the Ultimate in Non-Surgical Aesthetic Enhancements, including brow lifts.
If your forehead sags or your brows hang too low and too close to the eyes, you might consider endoscopic brow lift plastic surgery with Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. F. Leigh Phillips, III, PA, FACS. An endoscopic brow lift will provide you with a more youthful and rested appearance to the forehead and upper eyelids.
What is a Brow Lift?
Endoscopic brow lifts are highly individualized procedures. In your initial consultation, Dr. Phillips will evaluate your face, including the skin and underlying bone and will discuss your goals for the surgery. If you decide to choose endoscopic brow lift plastic surgery, he will explain the techniques and anesthesia he will use, the type of facility where the surgery will be performed, and the risks and costs involved.
Before Your Brow Lift
Dr. Phillips will also give you specific instructions on how to prepare for surgery, including guidelines on eating and drinking, smoking, and taking or avoiding certain vitamins and medications. Carefully following these instructions will help your surgery go more smoothly. If you smoke, it is especially important to stop at least two weeks before and after surgery; smoking inhibits blood flow to the skin and can interfere with the healing of your incision areas.
The Brow Lift Procedure
An endoscopic brow lift usually takes several hours. To perform the procedure, Dr. Phillips will usually make incisions behind or in front of the hairline, depending on the height of the patient’s forehead. The forehead skin is then lifted and repositioned, and the muscles that cause frown lines are weakened.
The Brow Lift Recovery
There is typically not much discomfort after an endoscopic brow lift procedure, and the patient can usually go home with his or her head wrapped in dressings, which are generally removed on the first or second day after surgery. Within seven to ten days, sutures or staples are usually removed, and most swelling and bruising is gone. Patients from Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale should avoid strenuous activity for at least two weeks and, above all, get plenty of rest and allow your body to spend its energy on healing.
