Types of Breast Implants Used by Dr. Phillips

Both types of implants are approved by the FDA and use silicone shells, but they differ in the fluid that fills the shell. Many women feel that silicone implants resemble real breast tissue more than saline implants.
Considerations for Breast Augmentation
The FDA has placed restrictions on who can receive silicone and saline implants. For patients who undergo breast augmentation for breast reconstruction, silicone or saline implants can be used. For other patients, women must be at least 18 years of age for saline implants, and at least 22 years of age for silicone implants.
